Payment crisis in Europe 2026: 62% of companies are late with payments, Poland among those at risk
As many as 62% of European companies are late with payments to suppliers because they themselves do not receive their receivables on time, according to Intrum's "European Payment Report 2026". With a result of 69%, Poland ranked in inglorious second place in Europe, just behind Germany (70%). The payment gap in the B2B sector has grown to 20 days, and the European economy has already exceeded the safe threshold of the share of overdue receivables in company revenues – which poses a serious threat, especially for road hauliers and logistics operators.
